Procrastination is usually about doubt and fear. Change of any kind can be very challenging so whenever you start to make changes, it’s often easier to procrastinate so you don’t actually have to deal with it.
You can choose to stay stuck wherever you are or not. You have to make a decision. No decision is a decision in itself.
Procrastination used to be my middle name. I became quite an expert at avoiding what I was fearful about doing. There was, as there usually is when we procrastinate, a payoff! I didn’t have to deal with anything. I didn’t have to find out if I would fail or if I could succeed.
However, after doing this for a number of years, I realized I was just cheating myself. I really did want to achieve the success and the dreams I had imagined and procrastinating was definitely not going to get me there. I was creating my own reality with the negative messages I was giving myself and I was going nowhere fast.
I had to get really honest with myself which as challenging as it was, is what I did. I learned to re-program and reframe my thinking. Guess what? All sorts of amazing things started to happen. I started to attract different people, different situations, more money and much more success.
I teach clients that when they start to lose themselves in fear and doubt, all they need to do is to step back, take a deep breath and ask themselves a question. “What could I have in my life if I believed I could do it?” I encourage you to do the same.
However old you are, it’s really is important to make a decision about how you want your life to look, how you are going to handle it and what action you choose to take.
I encourage you to make a choice each day to really live your life so that each positive choice you make brings you more in alignment with your passion and your dreams.
