Because of the world wide situation we are now experiencing, things are no doubt going to change in one way or another. You might be feeling anxious
about your future but you don’t have to stay mired in the anxiety. Staying calm will depend on you believing you still have the ability to create a positive outcome, whether in your personal, financial or professional life.
One of the main keys to going through change easily and calmly is learning how to let go of having an attachment to outcomes.
Whether it’s your attachment to the outcome of something you are creating, your child’s school work or how you want someone to behave, if you have an attachment to a specific outcome it often means you set yourself up for disappointment. Does this mean you will always feel disappointed about something? Absolutely not! You’re human, with human feelings and emotions.
There may be times that you do feel disappointed and that’s OK. It’s also necessary at certain times to have expectations. However expecting an outcome to be exactly as you want it is more about control.
There’s only one thing you have the power to control and that’s YOU. Letting go of the need to have an attachment to an outcome is important to your success in life and business as well as your well-being. Remember to continue working on being consciously aware of your thoughts so that you don’t automatically react when things don’t go the way you want them.
You might want to set an intention that it’s OK if things don’t turn out exactly as you want them to be. Be flexible and willing to go with the flow and don’t look for perfection.
